Community Acupuncture Clinic
- The Community Acupuncture Clinic is available at the Burley Lodge Centre and provides affordable acupuncture treatment to residents in the Burley and Hyde Park area. This is made possible by the sponsorship of the Community Champions Fund of the Scarman Trust.
- Clinic practitioners are qualified members of British Acupuncture Council, who comply with its Code of Practice and stringent requirements on hygiene and safety. The clinic is led by Joanne Dyson, accompanied by Olivia Brümmer-Hill, Frances Race (Indian Head Massage) and Tim Brown. All work at the clinic on a voluntary basis.
- There is little difference between Community Acupuncture and treatment in private clinics, except patients in the community setting will share a large peaceful treatment room.
- Community acupuncture treatments use acupuncture points that are below the knee and elbow, and on the head and neck. Therefore, patients can remain fully clothed during treatment. Many patients prefer a community setting because they find it more relaxing.
- The clinic is on Tuesday mornings between 10 am and 2 pm. For an appointment, please contact (tel: 0113 275 4142):
