Cosmetic Acupuncture
Cosmetic Acupuncture (Facial Regeneration, Facial Acupuncture, Facial Rejuvenation) is a virtually painless, non-surgical method of reducing signs of ageing, especially on the face.
In my treatments, I combine body and facial acupuncture with a facial acupressure massage using quality natural products from Neal's Yard Remedies.
Cosmetic acupuncture is sometimes referred to as an acupuncture facelift but is more than a cosmetic procedure. It ia a rejuvenation and revitalisation process aimed at helping the whole body look and feel younger and my patients have reported a wide range of benefits beyond their original requirements and expectations.
Cosmetic acupuncture is based on the same principles of oriental medicine as traditional acupuncture, and involves the insertion of very fine needles (typically 0.16 - 0.20 mm in diameter), into areas of the face, ears, neck, hands, trunk, and legs. I use a combination of traditional acupuncture points and points to address specific issues, eg to reduce wrinkles or lift the cheeks. Many acupuncture channels begin or end on the face while others have internal branches that link to the face. Cosmetic acupuncture utilises points on these channels, both on the face, and elsewhere on the body. Practitioners of cosmetic acupuncture aim to benefit the face whilst treating underlying factors that contribute to signs of aging.
Cosmetic acupuncture may lessen signs of ageing from the face, with results usually apparent after just a few treatments. Fine lines may be entirely eliminated and deeper wrinkles diminished. Bags under the eyes can be reduced, jowls firmed, puffiness eliminated, droopy eyelids lifted and double chins minimised. Other results may include: improved moisturisation of skin; increased local circulation of blood and lymph to the face; increased collagen production; improved muscle tone, and dermal contraction; tightening of the pores; brightening of the eyes; improving hormonal balances to help acne; reduction of stress signs in the face.
